We at Studio 18 are all about working with, and empowering young people to better themselves.

This is why we have made it our mission to "nurture the creativity and holistic development of young people through informal
education and the performing arts"
.

THIS IS WHY WE'VE TEAMED UP WITH MORE PEOPLE LIKE US!

iLand is being produced as part of Żigużajg, the international arts festival for Children and Young People, who every year brings a colourful array of arts experiences for young people to enjoy.

This is also being produced with the support of Valletta 2018, whose cultural programme includes "creative activities designed to inspire young people to get involved".

The Box Project

During each session, each respective group of students was presented with a box containing a stimulus; each group was presented with the same stimulus at the same phase of the project. With the assistance of tutors and workshop leaders, the groups devised a piece inspired by the stimulus and developed their performance further each time they were given a new box with a new stimulus. All groups received a total of 5 boxes throughout the process.

The project then culminated in a sharing of these pieces, where students were able to experience a number of different interpretations of the set of stimuli, seeing as all the pieces were a reaction to these identical boxes.
